This event serves CryptoChicks‘ mission to grow the economic, professional and leadership potential of women in blockchain and AI technologies through education, mentorship, business, and diverse employment opportunities. CryptoChicks Conference+Hackathon is a combination of a technology competition and an educational conference that is running side by side at the same location for the three consecutive days including overnights. In the program is a keynote from the Ethereum inventor Vitalik Buterin, a practical demo from SingularityNET on the Robot Sophia AI inside outs, as well as debates, panels, speeches, workshops from blockchain and AI world leaders. Also in the program is a networking cocktail reception, VIP Party, entertainment, decentralized hacking, hacker project presentations, and the World Championship awards.
Eligibility
- HACKER - DEVELOPMENT TRACK (WOMEN ONLY) Come up with an idea of a blockchain or AI application and develop a working prototype using any blockchain or AI technology. In case you don't have experience in that - no worries. You will have free access to all BlockGeeks.com online courses and live webinars. Our mentors will be helping you to code. You will have access to workshops onsite. You will have 24 hours to finish your prototype. Teams can be formed ahead of time over Slack or at the pre-hacking, team building event prior to the hackathon - TBA. Refundable ticket purchase will be required in order to reserve your hackathon seat as there are only a limited amount of seats available.
- HACKER - BUSINESS TRACK(WOMEN ONLY). Come up with a business idea for blockchain or AI application in Fintech, Supply Chain Management, Social Impact, or any other idea that can use blockchain or AI as a solution and develop a full-blown business model according to the rules and format announced at the pre-hacking, team building event prior to the hackathon - TBA; you will have 24 hours. Any blockchain technology can be used. You will have free access to all BlockGeeks.com online courses and live webinars. You will have access to workshops online and onsite during and prior to the hackathon. We will have a team building event on Friday, May 31 and if you find the developer that can join your project - you are welcome to switch to Development Track competition. Refundable ticket purchase will be required in order to reserve your hackathon seat as there are only a limited amount of seats available.
- HACKER - YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TRACK (BOYS and GIRLS). (If you are under 18 years old ) Come up with an idea of a blockchain or AI application and develop a working prototype using any blockchain or AI technology. In case you don't have experience in that - no worries. You will have free access to all BlockGeeks.com online courses and live webinars. Our mentors will be helping you to code. You will have access to workshops onsite. You will have 24 hours to finish your prototype. Teams can be formed ahead of time over Slack or at the pre-hacking, team building event prior to the hackathon - TBA. Refundable ticket purchase will be required in order to reserve your hackathon seat as there are only a limited amount of seats available. You will be required to have your a teacher, parent or other chaperones with you at the event.
- MENTOR - All genders. Need to have blockchain development, blockchain business experience or AI experience. Please fill separate mentor application.
Hackers and mentors are welcome to attend workshops, speeches and talks, but will be encouraged to focus most of their time on building a blockchain-based project to present on Sunday afternoon. All hackathon participants also have full free access to Conference that will run May 31-June 2.
Applications are approved based on interest in blockchain and/or AI and demonstrated the ability to code or contribute meaningfully to a project. Applications from any corner of the globe will be accepted. PLEASE NOTE that non-developers are welcome to apply as well. Each hacker team will consist of 2-4 individuals with diverse skill sets. If you have something you think you can add to the ecosystem – whether it's a knack for crafting white papers to explain dApps, project management skills, a creative or artistic perspective, or an entrepreneurial vision – we'd welcome your talents and skills on one of our hackathon teams.
Solo hackers are invited to register and will have the opportunity to meet people prior to the event at online Slack group, or during team building session held on Friday, the first day of the event.
Established teams are welcome to register. Please register individually. We also can accept your registrations and have a technology to join you to this hackathon remotely.
Requirements
Women Business Track - present your business pitch that has your viable business model, the funding plan, Unique Value Proposition, MVP mockups
Women Developer Track - build the business solution using blockchain or AI technology
Youth Developer Track - build the business solution using blockchain or AI technology
You will have to submit your PowerPoint presentation or Video, link to your code, PP Slide with the Name of your team/project, short description, and team member names.
